iPhone 6 Air Rendered by Giorgio Tedoradze, a 2015 Design With iOS 9 (Video)
Giorgi Tedoradze is rushing to 2015, leaving behind the iPhone 6. He imagines the version after the one shown this month and he calls it the iPhone 6 Air. It’s even bigger than the iPhone 6, it has sloped sides and it’s very, very thin. The newcomer has a 5.5 inch display with a Full HD resolution, the new Apple A8 chipset, a quad core 1.8 GHz setup and a new camera. This is a 10 megapixel shooter with optical image stabilization and the iPhone 6 Air also brings the typical metallic case, Touch ID and very narrow screen bezels. It runs iOS 9, with a passive part of the screen, new symbols and icons and an active part of the screen.
iOS 9 will create segments of the screen according to its needs. The specs of the iPhone 6 Air include a Li-Po 2600 mAh battery, with up to 320 hours of standby and up to 11 hours of talk time. The front camera is a 2 MP unit and the back camera benefits from dual LED flashes. Volume buttons are yet again redesigned, this time as rectangular pieces of plastic, while the On/Off button stays on the side, like on the iPhone 6.
What do you think of this approach?
SONY XPERIA Z4
Sony Xperia Z4 also comes with 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB of ROM and a 24 megapixel main camera, that probably rivals the latest Pureview models. We also get a front 8 megapixel shooter, stereo sound, a 4000 mAh battery and a body that measures 6.9 mm in thickness. This phone has two nano SIM card slots, a microSD and a microUSB, most likely covered up with lids for the sake of water protection.
This smartphone integrates a camera button, a lanyard hole, microphones with noise canceling abilities and special pins for dock attachment. The trademark metallic power button is included here, on the side and the rectangular design is pretty predictable to be honest. Can’t really tell if this model is made of plastic, metal or glass, or maybe some other new material. Overall, the design isn’t very impressive, but the specs are and probably the price will be too.

Samsung Galaxy S6: What Do You Want for the 2015 Flagship? (Video)
I’m sure that by now you know Bob Freking for his revolutionary smartphone concepts and now he offers you the chance to participate in designing the next Galaxy S. He posted the following video, asking you for 6 things you want to see on the Samsung Galaxy S6.This 2015 Samsung flagship is supposed to fix the disappointment of the Galaxy S5 launch that went down last week. Keep in mind that whatever you say, Bob Freking takes into account and designs accordingly. I would suggest a 64 bit processor, 3 GB of RAM and a modular camera with a couple of bundled lenses.
I would also see this handset adopting a 2K resolution on a 5.2 or 5.3 inch display and an edge to edge design format used here. The case would finally be metallic and the Home physical button would be gone. The fingerprint scanner could be integrated into the screen this time and the cardiac sensor will be kept. What do you think of these Galaxy S6 suggestions?
HTC Nexus 2015 Tablet Teased by Hasan Kaymak
Every time we visit Hasan Kaymak’s Google+ page we know there’s a new product design ready to hit us. This time it’s a beautiful HTC tablet, a 2015 Nexus, as described by its maker.
This model is only teased for now, so I expect that over the following week or so we’ll get a full gallery of this curved slate. This model doesn’t seem to have any edges, so I’m guessing it’s the first tablet with an edge to edge screen. I love its curved edges, that somehow give the HTC Nexus tablet a gaming vibe.
Judging by the trends at MWC 2014, this model should have a Snapdragon 801 processor, 3 GB of RAM and Android 5.0 Liquorish or whatever its name will be. I can guess this is a 2560 x 1600 pixel screen, if not 4K even, with a 10 inch diagonal or perhaps even more. What say you, Hasan Kaymak?
HTC M9 Could be the Flagship of 2015
Rohit Singh is back after this HTC M8 concept with a device he calls the HTC M9. This model is supposed to be a flagship phone of 2015 and certainly sounds like one. This handset opts for a single BoomSound speaker and an interesting and modern back pattern. The fingerprint scanner on the side, from the previous concept is still here and we’ve got a 12 Ultrapixel camera and Snapdragon 805 CPU, so not much has changed. 4 GB of RAM and a 2K display are also here, as well as HTC Zoe and BlinkFeed. The screen measures 5.2 inches in diagonal and has Gorilla Glass protection.
The case is made of premium aluminum and Android KitKat is the OS of choice here, with HTC Sense 6.0 or 6.5 maybe. The back has a very nice 3D look to it and the camera area feels very much like a Nexus 5 or something like it. Interestingly enough there are 4 capacitive buttons here, a trend that has not been popular for a long while now.
Samsung Galaxy S VI Gives us a Glimpse of 2015… Or Even Further
Yes, you read the title right, it’s Samsung Galaxy S VI or Galaxy S6 if you want, not the Galaxy S IV launching tomorrow. Vilim Pluzaric imagined it and claims that he sees the newcomer as a cultural icon, that will replace the iconic nature of the iPhone, so he dedicated lots of hours to this project.Vilim Pluzaric wants the design to be humane again and not so focused on crazy specs and advancements. The new Galaxy S VI design includes technologies that have yet to be launched, but they are truly a subject of innovation. We return to the roots, to the 4.5 inch screen, a larger frame/edge around the display, that actually makes sense from the point of view of the ergonomics. Edge to edge is dismissed by the designer as not so viable.
There’s also a RGB wide gamut OLED display and a non rectangular surface of the screen. The Samsung Galaxy concept is very thin and also very smooth and it’s made of plastic, with a futuristic generation of nano coating called Hyperskin. Everything goes to wireless, so there are no audio jacks or charging ports or even USB.
The device runs Android 6.0 with Gravity UX, that actually looks to me as innovative as the jump from Gingerbread to Android ICS, frankly speaking, so it’s impressive. The battery is also next gen and should provide one week of heavy usage on a single charging, while the display supports a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution. At the back we have an 18 megapixel camera with 4K high framerate video recording.
Nokia BlackBerry Concept is 2015 Material
Gregory Pizzatto couldn’t have found a better time to design this Nokia Touch BlackBerry concept, with the aim of the product being the year 2015. Right now both Nokia and RIM are struggling to find a direction and if they join heads and maybe also include Windows Phone in the mix they’ll make it…Back to Gregory’s design, we can see here a Nokia for 2015 with a sliding touch area that serves as the keyboard the device. There’s also a menu available for touch on the main area of the device, with icons that resembles the ones in iOS, the older version even. There seems to be a camera at the top of the back side.
The sliding part seems to include a virtual QWERTY keyboard, if I’m not mistaking. I’ll be back in the next days with some other designs from Gregory, this time with Android and a clamshell unit.
Nokia Shows Technology of 2015 In Front of Camera (Video)
Nokia’s usual demo of future technology is once again loose, this time showing how mobile technology will look like in 2015. The company’s head of corporate strategy, Heikki Norta tells us how we’ll be living 6 years from now, surrounded by touch UIs and high tech devices. Here’s the video:The key words for this not so remote future are augmented reality, omnipresent connectivity, dual display handsets, micro projectors, laser keyboards and basically anything we’ve seen as a concept, but turned into reality. A huge network aggregator will be at the core of the services and software, connecting hundreds of millions of users.
Intelligent devices will stay in sync, provide weather, financial and other types of updates and some uber-cool sharing options will also be available. Dreamy? Yes… and somewhat scary.
NTT DoCoMo Phone of 2015 Gets Detailed on Video
We were fascinated by NTT DoCoMo’s concept phone we discovered last week, specially since it was a device meant to hit the market in 2015. This modular handset supported various attachments, like a blood testing gadget and even a flute. Turns out that there’s also a flexible scroll attachment, you can check out below.Notice the big clear screen available for the user to visualise, replacing your daily newspaper. If this is the concept cellphone of 2015, we’re definitely its fans and you can see more of NTT’s ideas for the following 6 years in the video below, since their handset design looks so promising.
2015 Phone Designed by Monica Lee Features a Sensitive Keypad
Monica Lee pictured the 2015 “communicator phone”, the result being this iNSTINCT dESIGN which is part of the OX series. The concept handset uses wireless connectivity to transfer all the files you need at any time and it has a display on its edge, which can only show the time.
The keypad is delicate, that’s why it comes with a protective cover and in case you’re looking for a camera, there’s none to be found, or at least we didn’t find it… Notice the S shape of the device? Now that’s hot!
Vertu Suave, the Feminine Pink Gold Phone of 2015
We’re back to 2015, with a Vertu handset designed for ladies this time, the Suave phone. This concept was created by Christopher Tak Cheung Yue and it’s the new definition of luxury and sophistication. It comes with organic shapes and turns into a comfortable interaction environment.
In order to make it a real Vertu, it includes precious metals like yellow gold or pink gold (front side) plus a titanium rim and sheep skin leather (back side).
Vertu Edge Touchscreen Phone of 2015, a Beautiful Concept
Seems that most designers have 2 years in mind when creating the phones of the future: 2012 and 2015. After seeing 3 Nokia cellphones of 2012, it’s time to check out the Vertu line of 2015, which includes the Edge handset. This concept design was created by Samant Khanna and it’s a small 70 mm device with a touchscreen. The Vertu Edge comes with a small frontal screen used for the basic functions and a foldable edge-to-edge touchscreen at the back of the handset. This can be folded upwards, converting Edge into a bar phone. The other specs are impressive too: built-in GPS, 16GB of internal memory, high-speed mobile broadband support and Office Mobile.
All of that is packed within a stylish handset, that I hope we’ll see on the market sooner than 2015.
5 Reasons Why I Don’t Like the Apple Watch
You probably noticed that we didn’t cover this week’s Apple launches, not because we didn’t care, but because it was all so predictable. Everything happened according to plan and everything that was leaked came true, maybe aside from the iWatch details…First of all, the device is called Apple Watch, so typical from Apple to decide and give up the “i” last minute, probably because everyone expected that. And now, on to the things I don’t like:
1. First on the list is the general design. I’ve seen dozens of concept iWatches, all of them rounded and some designers even imagined this version of the Apple Watch rounded over the past days. They all looked better than the real deal, with its squared face and slightly rounded edges.
2. We don’t know much about it: no idea what the hardware specs are, the battery life or if it’s waterproof or not. I know it’s coming in early 2015, but come on?! We don’t even know the exact diagonal of this thing
3. The UI is confusing. It’s not exactly iOS and apparently Apple has gone from touch to using a crown button to zoom in or out. They also have that “galaxy of apps” thing floating on the screen, that’s not exactly bad, but also not my cup of tea. Everything is aired out and at the same time seems like a caricature of a serious UI.
4. A physical button for communication with those closer to you?! Are you kidding me? Also, you can communicate through special emojis?! Come on, Apple! Illiteracy is already bad enough..
5. You need an iPhone for this device to work and its “hipster features” are annoying: send your pulse, draw on the screen and send, walkie talkie and send vibrations…

Jermaine Smit Renders the LG G4, With a Metal Body and Modified Back Buttons (Video)
There’s been no shortage of LG G4 concepts lately and today we stumble upon Jermaine Smit’s view of the future 2015 flagship. This model is shown with modified back buttons and it even gets a video below. We’re dealing yet again with a phone with a special camera, a huge one, as shown here. The LG G4 shown here comes with a Snapdragon 805 processor, 3 GB of RAM, a 2K 5.5 inch display and a 16 megapixel camera with OIS. There’s 32 GB of storage inside and a 3450 mAh battery in the mix. We’ve got dual front speakers (0.5 W and 1 W) and a round flash around the camera. The body is fully made of metal and the facade design lines make me think more of Nexus 5, less of LG G3 and G2.
The back buttons are aligned horizontally now, with the two volme buttons flanking the On/Off one, that’s pretty small. The handset is very slim and its edges seem not as narrow as those of the predecessors’. This G4′s metal edge is pretty pronounced and chromed and I’d surely see this as a future flagship from LG.
HTC One M9 is a 64 bit Smartphone, Made of Titanium, Aluminum and Sapphire
After covering the Xperia Z4, LG G4 and Samsung Galaxy S6, it’s time for theHTC One M9 flagship for 2015. This one means business and it even includes a slide of its chassis, as shown below, brilliantly rendered by Fabrizio D’Onofrio. The HTC One M9 shown here measures 7 mm in thickness, weighs 140 grams and adopts the dual speaker BoomSound system, like its predecessors. Inside it here’s a 64 bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, while upfront you’ll find a Quad HD LCD IPS screen with unknown diagonal. I’m guessing it’s a 5.2 inch or 5.3 inch affair. This model has 3 GB of RAM, a 3500 mAh battery and offers 32 GB of storage, 64 or 128 GB.
At the back there’s a 12 ultrapixel camera, accompanied by a 5 megapixel cam, that triggers a Duo Camera system with OIS plus. HTC One M9 integrates a 5.1 MP camera for high quality selfies and the sound system has been upgraded to BoomSound+. The case is a combo of titanium, aluminum and sapphire for the front side. This is a unibody model, hopefully one that doesn’t chip as time goes by…
Great concept!LG G4 Windows Phone 9 Version Includes a Hot Cortana to Go With It
The same designer who brought us the LG G4 concept phone, has come up with the LG G4 Windows Phone 9 handset, a model for 2015. After all, LG is the company that started the Windows Phone 7 craziness and it would be fit for them to have at least one more high end flagship. The LG G4 Windows Phone 9 version comes with 4 GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 808 processor and… obviously Cortana, in a sexy version, apparently. As you can see, the virtual Windows Phone buttons are here and the handset is slightly curved. The LG G4 comes with a flexible 4K display with an edge to edge design. There’s also a 4000 mAh battery and the device integrates a 16 megapixel back shooter, with laser autofocus.
Upfront there’s a 5 megapixel camera for selfies and I have to say this may just be the first flexible Windows Phone model, while Android already has this format locked up. Too bad that Windows Phone 9 is not detailed here, although I imagine it comes with something like 3D tiles, with more details, a dynamic view of the features and most importantly gets rid of that vertical list of apps.
HTC One M9 Gets Designed by Hasan Kaymak Again; Here’s a 3D Render (Video)
Hasan Kaymak may have designed the HTC One M9, but this is by no means a 2015 flagship phone, instead he imagined the design language of 2018. The speakers are supposed to reflect that most than anything. There’s also a video detailing the design below. You can access this Sketchfab profile for Hasan and support his work by donating on Paypal at hasan.kaymak94@gmail.com. As far as the HTC One M9 is concerned, we get extremely narrow bezels, a wide body and what seems like a triple flash with 3 types of flash colors. There’s a solid metal edge around the device and the speakers clearly stand out of the brilliantly machine fabricated body.
I see there’s a small button of sorts below the camera, or maybe an autofocus laser assist, following the example of the LG G3. The top and bottom BoomSound speakers have a very modern design and overall the format hasn’t changed from the previous models too much, it’s only been evolved a bit. There are also virtual Android buttons in the mix, by the way. Basically, this is everything the LG G3 should be plus a touch of HTC One M8…
Samsung Galaxy S6 Concept Render Created by NinsatiStudios (Video)
While the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is only about a month away from launch, some people are already dreaming about the Samsung Galaxy S6, like the model shown below. We’re dealing with a concept render created by Ninsati Studios, one that integrates high quality speakers. This 2015 model features the option to change the UI, from TouchWiz to Vanilla, a much more minimalistic experience. This Galaxy S6 render brings an aluminum body, a new Qualcomm Snapdragon octa core processor and a 5.2 inch Full HD Super AMOLED screen with 3D abilities, much like the ones of the Nintendo 3DS. You can also do 3D capture with its camera and other than that this is the typical rectangular handset with a Home button below the display.
The button is physical and most likely integrates a fingerprint scanner. This Samsung Galaxy S6 phone is pretty thin and it has a big earpiece at the top. From what I can see, there’s a dual camera at the back, which is something that may be borrowed from LG or the failed HTC Evo 3D or LG Optimus 3D. Would this model be a hit? The only things I like about it are the speakers and aluminum body.
LG G4 Gets Fresh 2W Speakers Upfront, TouchPad at the Back
The LG G3 has barely arrived in stores and there’s already speculation about the LG G4. We’ve met the Xperia Z4 today, so why not have a look at the G4? Well, Javier sent us some renders of this new model and while improvements from the G3 are subtle, they are also welcome.
This time, the smartphone adopts new 2W speakers, placed at the front (top and bottom). This is meant to rival the BoomSound setup on the HTC One M8 in my opinion and as long as the speakers are not muffled easily, I’m happy with that decision. There’s a sensitive touchpad and touch volume buttons at the back. The touch area lets you scrolls through apps and lists and it also allows you to zoom in and out the camera.
LG G4 comes in 5 different colors, including mauve, a shade of brown, black and white. On board we find a 5.1 megapixel front camera, the famous laser autofocus with an improvement at the back and an enhanced dual LED flash. The screen goes to a 5.7 inch QHD and the main camera has been upgraded to a 16 megapixel unit. Inside we find 4 GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 808 processor, as well as a 4000 mAh battery (removable).
The design is reminiscent of the predecessor, in my opinion, but also a bit more rounded.
